Drivers involved in the transportation and handling of hazardous materials on Singapore roads as required by the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF).
1 Day (0830 - 1730 hrs)
• Hazard Identification & Information Systems
• Hazards Classes
• Role and responsibilities of Hazmat Transport Drivers
• Control on the Transportation of Hazmat by Road
• Transportation Emergency Response Plan (TERP)
• Implement and review risk controls
• Carry out risk controls
• Emergency Response Procedures Guide
• Basic Fire Fighting (theory and practical demonstration)
At the end of the course, participants should be able to:
• Explain the 9 classes of hazardous substances and their identifications
• Explain the purpose and legislation requirements on the transportation of hazardous materials
• Appreciate the roles and responsibilities of the drivers in any emergency
• Appreciate the basic principles on the chemistry of fire and be able to operate a fire extinguisher effectively
Participants must be sponsored by Company.
Existing PSA Pass holders are to bring along their PSA Pass for the course
